Kenn Nesbitt, former US Children’s Poet Laureate, will be with us March 21st and 22nd. Day One he will be presenting to combined Year level groups from Year 2 through to Year 6, and Day Two he will workshop with interested student poets in specially formed Year level “classes”. Here is a link once again to Kenn’s timetable and to the wonderful resource of his website¬†poetry4kids.com. I know 6GD have been making terrific use of this site and sharing their creativity through tweets to Kenn. And he tweets back!

All teachers are very much encouraged to come along to the Workshop sessions and learn alongside their students. Could I humbly suggest a little clever relieving of each other in classrooms or through use of our AAs TAs? This is a wonderful opportunity!

The Mechai Learning Commons will have copies of Kenn’s books for sale Monday March 14th through to Tuesday 22nd, the final day of Kenn’s visit. I will send home ye olde paper order form for each child (please check your cubbies and thank you for distributing) and will also be selling them in the MLC. The cost of the paperback poetry anthologies is THB400. We have the following titles:

The Armpit of Doom
The Biggest Burp Ever
When the Teacher Isn’t Looking
Revenge of the Lunch Ladies
Very limied copies of:
The Ultimate Top Secret Guide to Taking Over the World
The Tighty Whitey Spider

A little gross but interesting titles certainly! Please click titles for a review from GoodReads.

Kenn will be available to sign his books in the Mechai Learning Commons from 2:30pm to 3:30pm Monday 21st March and Tuesday 22nd March.

Happy reading and rhyming,

Jennifer
